An exhibition of paintings by 'All India Arts':“An amazing visual journey into a world of rich culture, history and great personalities.”03 July 2008 (3 Days) Running in conjunction with Celebrating Fulham Week, All India Arts presents an exhibition of paintings and prints depicting some of the great Indians who have contributed to India’s diverse culture and history. These include patriotic heroes, great mystics and historic episodes that tell a historic story, as well as depicting festivals and the people of India.
All India Arts provides a fascinating and diverse visual insight into the art, culture and history of India from a range of dedicated and talented Indian artists presenting both a realistic vision as well as caricatures and humorous sketches.
An exhibition of paintings and miniatures by artist Kurchi Dasgupta18 September 2008 (7 days) Indian Artist, Kurchi Dasgupta, based in Calcutta, specialises in a unique blend of abstract and miniature paintings in goulash. She will be exhibiting at the Bhavan Centre’s art gallery a series of her works that are both evocative and surreal in nature and she says, 'In all my efforts I have tried to recontextualise everyday reality by drilling into the depths of the subconscious, and try and provide the viewer/participator with a new set of tools with which s/he can can perceive and interpret existence ...'
Indian Inspirations: A group exhibition.26 September 2008 (12 Days) ‘Indian Inspirations’ is a group exhibition by artists, Mari I’Anson, Caroline Jariwala & Anjali D'Souza.
The show presents an eclectic and thought provoking range of work, representing the rich colour and culture of India.
Work spans from figurative to landscape to semi-abstract work, through a range of mediums including, watercolour, oils and acrylic.
One can not help when seeing these images, being transported back to scenes of India so familiar, such as the greenness of Kerala’s lush vegetation, the baron deserts of Rajasthan, to the tea plantations of Mummar, as well as themes of ritual, costume, and dance.
