| Description: | After the roaring success of the last Bhinna Abhinna (Separate yet one) held at the Bhavan with famous guitarist Antonio Forcione, prepare yourself for another in this fascinating series of collaborative music, this time featuring the group Gemini and the Bhavan's own Indian classical musicians. Gemini is an ensemble consisting of the clarinet, mezzo-soprano and percussion. The group led by Ian Mitchell has been conducting workshops with students studying the Indian music degree along with members of the teaching staff at the Bhavan. Gemini and The Bhavan Centre are therefore proud to present an afternoon featuring a varied programme of music including a newly and especially-created piece just for the occasion. The afternoon will also include a percussion duet between the two genres along with some electrifying group improvisations mixing both traditions in an inimitable style not to be missed. The B.Mus Honours degree in Indian Classical Music is taught in collaboration with Trinity College of Music and is validated by City University. |
