Guru Charana Smaranam- A Triple Milestone Celebration
The 10th edition of Guru Charana Smaranam marks a unique confluence of three landmark occasions: the birth centenary of Divya’s legendary Guru Udupi Sri Laxminarayana, a decade of Guru Charana Smaranam, and 20 years of Divya Kasturi’s artistic journey and contribution to Indian classical dance in the UK. Through dance, music, and shared memories, this grand-event pays tribute to a revered guru while celebrating a legacy that continues to inspire future generations beyond geographic boundaries.
Featuring captivating solo and ensemble performances , a rare lecture-demonstration by Udupi Smt. Madhumathy Prakash, the program culminates with ‘Sri Krishnam’—a grand- dance production conceived by Guru Udupi Sri Laxminarayana, choreographed by Madhumathy Prakash, and performed by Divya Kasturi’s disciples.
Kalaimamani’ Awardee Smt. Divya Kasturi, a cultural trailblazer whose work spans continents and disciplines. With more than three decades of performing experience, her journey flows across dance, music, British physical theatre, Indian television, education, choreography, and technology-infused interdisciplinary work. Yet at her core lie two inseparable forces: Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music — the twin pulses of her Art.
