Heritage Connect CIC proudly presents the third edition of Parampara Utsav, a one-act drama festival. This year, in collaboration with Ektu. Theatre Group and Essex Indian Thespians, the festival brings two thought-provoking Bengali plays by two stalwarts of Indian theatre – Manoj Mitra and Badal Sarkar.
The first play, Sottyi Bhuter Goppo by Manoj Mitra, is a serio-comic take on social hypocrisy and corruption. The second play, Jodi Arekbar by Badal Sarkar, explores the emotional depth of ordinary lives – portraying unfulfilled desires, relationship dilemmas, and the universal longing for a second chance. Adding colour to the evening is a vibrant folk dance performance by talented community dancers, showcasing Bengal’s rich cultural heritage.
Curated and directed by Dr. Arpita Ray, with assistant direction by Sourav Mitra and Dr. Anirban Mandal, Parampara Utsav promises an enriching evening of theatre, tradition, and togetherness.
