An evening celebrating the timeless power of Indian classical dance, storytelling and theatre in support of Sankara Eye Foundation, brought to London by two distinguished artistes, Ramaa Bharadvaj and Geetha Sridhar.
The London Premiere of Ramaa Bharadvaj’s AVATARANA – The Story of Natya
An acclaimed, witty and captivating story-theatre AVATARANA is a critically acclaimed solo story-theatre performance in English and Sanskrit, created and performed by the renowned dancer, storyteller and theatre artist Ramaa Bharadvaj. With her distinctive signature style, Ramaa Bharadvaj brings together evocative storytelling, classical dance, expressive theatre, original musical soundscapes, humour and cultural insights to reanimate a primeval tale for contemporary urban audiences.
Featuring an exceptional classical dance presentation by Geetha Sridhar , an eminent Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher and Artistic Director of Natyasri, London. A respected name in the Bharatanatyam community, Geetha Sridhar brings her depth of experience, artistry and passion for classical dance to this special evening.
The programme will also feature performances by Monideepa Seal, an acclaimed Odissi dancer and Gold Medalist in Odissi and Vaishnav Dachavaram, an emerging young dancer and disciple of his mother, Deepa Viswamohan of Abhinaya Fine Arts
