  will explore topics Culture\, Migration and Mental health of South Asians
  in the UK.\n\nMigration is not a new phenomenon. People had migrated for 
 thousands of years for various reasons. Migration accentuated rapidly over
  the past hundred years\, mainly with aircraft transportation. Historicall
 y people migrated from their country of origin due to are two main factors
  - 'Push' factors and 'pull factors'. Push factors are mainly famine\, flo
 od\, unemployment\, persecution etc. Pull factors are\, availability of jo
 bs\, better life\, educational opportunities etc. in the alien country.\n\
 nWhen people migrate from their familiar culture and language into an enti
 rely alien culture\, this causes initially 'cultural shock' and many socio
 cultural and mental health problems. This lecture intends to give an overv
 iew about these salient issues\, and how best we can cope with these issue
