An evening of joyful & soothing Indian choral compositions for inner joy and wellbeing. Led by Artistic Director-Conductor: Dr. Rakesh Joshi, accompanied by Niamh Flynn on Harp, Robin Christian on Bansuri. Hemant Bhatt on Tabla and Rutik Joshi on Harmonium. BVG, the Indian choir for adults and SHIVA, the Indian youth choir are the UK’s first Indian choirs, conceived in 2014. Over 60 Adults and 30 Youth are choir members.
Varieties of compositions includes raga based tarana, Vedic chants, folk songs, Patriotic songs, famous poetry and Songs of four seasons. Dr. Rakesh Joshi trained in Indian music under Padma Bhushan Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty, Shri Brj Joshi, Shri Shashank Fadnis, and the late Shri Dinesh Majmudar, with early inspiration from Akashvani Radio and Classic FM. He has performed widely across the USA, India, Europe, and the UK, and holds a PGCE, M.Com, Diploma in Music, and a Ph.D. in Indian Music.
